Born in Barbados she grew up listening to reggae music, and began singing while she was young. In a state of discontent from the chaotic life of her family as well as the constant arguments between the parents, she absorbed herself in music and before long began to realize that she wished to become a professional musician. At the age of 16, she started a group that included musicians. They met the music producer Evan Rodgers. He was impressed with her talent. The singer was then moved into New York to start a life-long career as a singer. The album she released her debut album soon out and Rihanna became a hit with the public within a short time. Rihanna's peppy songs were the top of the charts among teenagers who pushed her into the world of film. Young and talented, her name is known today as a teen idol and a fashion icon.
