Najarra had already figured out her life's purpose at the young age of 3. Najarra began modeling and act in stage plays in her locality. Through her early years and teenage life, Najarra was involved in both stage and musical productions. In her twenties, she made her big screen debut co-starring in the movie "Menace". Najarra received international recognition for her role in "Me and You and Everybody We know", which won the Sundance as well as Cannes awards in 2005. She's played the main character in numerous films which include: "Tru Loved", "Marin Blue", "Betty I am" and has appeared in numerous other independent films.
